Norway's leading business school

NHH is Norway's leading teaching and research institution in the fields of economics and business administration. The school is an integral part of the Norwegian university system, where academic quality, relevance and integrity, as well as the ability to serve a critical purpose in society are major values. Against this backdrop, NHH's main task is to develop and disseminate knowledge in order to further the formation of values and goals of society. In this work, great emphasis is being placed on ethical, environmental and allocational aspects of economic activity and the formation of values.

NHH strives to be one of the leading research and educational institutions in Europe and endeavours to recruit the best students; based on the belief that excellence in research is the prerequisite of excellence in teaching. Of the 213 academic staff at the school, 155 are professors (51 professors, 35 professor IIs, 57 associate professors and 14 assistant professors) and 56 are research scholars (6 of whom are post-doctorial researchers). The vast majority of the professorial staff hold PhDs and the faculty includes the Nobel Prize winner Professor Finn E. Kydland.

The faculty resources at NHH are grouped into five departments, with each actively involved in research and teaching within a number of fields and disciplines. In addition, the school co-operates closely with the foundations AFF (Administrative Research Institute at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration) and SNF (Institute for Research in Economics and Business Administration). NHH has 350 members of staff, and together with its associated foundations constitutes a major academic and organisational entity with 474 employees and a budget of over 250 million NOK.

NHH graduates go on to fill leading positions in business and public life. Each year a large number of national (e.g. Norsk Hydro, Statoil, Kværner Oil & Gas) and international companies (e.g. L'Oreal, Arthur Andersen, McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, Procter & Gamble, Cap Gemini...) give presentations at NHH to recruit future NHH graduates. We believe that NHH will provide an exciting and active student environment that will make your stay very rewarding, both academically, socially and culturally.
