What is GEP?

Global Economic Perspectives (GEP) is a part of the student organisation at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), working to promote an interest in economics among students at the School, as well as in the rest of Bergen. GEP has no political affiliation, and is completely run by students.

Through debates and conferences, GEP seeks to focus attention on important social issues, and to act as an arena for exchange of opinions and knowledge. Participants at GEP’s events consist of, in addition to students, prominent people from the fields of politics, academia and business. Examples of previous speakers are the minister of foreign affairs, Jonas Gahr Støre, minister of defence, Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen, Eivind Reiten, Jan Petersen and Victor Norman.
